Houseboating with small children
Just as any trip with small children requires extra packing, so does houseboating.
Let us help provide you with some additional suggestions from our veteran houseboaters.
Additional items to bring:
- Swim diapers & diaper cover
- Water toys—noodles, inflatable toys and tubes, etc.
- Hats
- Sunscreen
- Water shoes / aqua socks
-
Infant vests
While your marina will have an ample supply of adult and child-sized life vests, they may not have an infant vest for a child weighing less than 30 pounds. We recommend bringing your own if you are able so that your child may be safe and comfortable. If you can’t bring one, we recommend calling the marina in advance to see what they have available.
Some suggested items to make the trip more fun:
- Mini fans
- Spray bottles / squirt guns
- Bubbles
- Sand shovel & pail & molds
- DVDs
- Games
- Books
